2020 is a year that has challenged ALL of us in so many ways. But if we take a deep breath, we can realize that it has created opportunities for us to become better people, to stand up for others, and the reminder that life can be short. The challenges that 2020 brought us reminded us of what Austin went through & all that he endured.....that even in the darkest hour, he reminded us that there are others that still need help! That Cancer doesn’t take a break! That Cancer can happen to anyone! Like all other foundations, COVID-19 forced us to cancel events, and lose out on ways to raise money for the families that are still fighting. However, with the help of our AMAZING supporters we were able to make something happen!
In December, we were blessed to have our annual FWF Foundation Day of Giving at the hospital.
This is a favorite time of the year we always look forward to! Under the current situation our day was definitely different, as we did everything outside, but that is ok. We were still able to deliver food and gift cards for the amazing hospital staff who are family to us! Even though we didn’t get to see them all in person, we hope they know how much we love them & how GRATEFUL we are for them! We were also able to donate cash & gift cards to families that are treating there. We have already received messages from staff on how much it has touched a few families & has given them Hope & let them know that they are not alone!
Finally, in a year that we didn’t know if we would even be able to have any fundraising events, we were able to donate $50,022.22 for cancer research & to support the Adolescent Young Adult Cancer Program. We can’t THANK our amazing & incredible supporters ENOUGH as we are so blessed for every $1 donated & every second of time given to continue Austin’s wish to help others!
